GBD Rodate

GBD was founded in France in 1850 and produced meerschaum pipes. Over the years, they switched to briar, recognising its advantages, and built up a thriving industry. In 1903, one of the partners opened a factory in London. They produced a vast number of pipes in both London and Paris, but their success came after the First World War. They acquired historic British brands such as BBB and Loewe and became famous and highly regarded throughout the world. Their strength lay mainly in their classic models made from Greek or Algerian briar. The quality of the briar and their expertise in working it made them very famous. GBD pipes are a classic that enjoyed their greatest success in the 1980s.
