Bjarne Rodate

Bjarne Nielsen was one of the best-known figures in Danish pipe-making until his death in 2008. Although Bjarne pipes are no longer produced, they are still in high demand amongst those who appreciate well-made pipes and the tradition of Danish design. As the founder of Bjarne, Nielsen employed Danish craftsmen to produce pipes in the Danish style and sell them to an international audience. His pipes were divided into two categories: the workshop’sstandard range , marked ‘BJARNE’, and the workshop’s high-end range, marked ‘Bjarne Nielsen’. They were all Bjarne pipes; all made under the personal supervision of Bjarne Nielsen; and all excellent Danish pipes. But the Bjarne Nielsen pipes were a little more special.
