Baldo Baldi, Rodate

Baldo Baldi was born in Genoa in 1947. He attended art school and graduated with a degree in Architecture. During his studies, he took up pipe smoking, and these two passions – design and pipes – led him to become one of the first Italian pipe makers. His pipes are sculptures, unique and original pieces, which retain a fundamental characteristic: the practicality of the smoking experience. His talent was soon recognised internationally, both by customers and by leading manufacturers such as those in Denmark. Key to his success is the briar wood, which has been seasoned for over a decade. Meticulous and exacting, his creations are very limited in number and the prices are certainly high. Only in recent years has the grade of beauty been engraved on the pipes; in the past, this was not marked.
