A FEW WORDS ABOUT RODATO!

The market for broken-in pipes is thriving and very active. We've all had pipes that have been left aside: we haven't smoked them in a long time and we don't even know why! We may have chosen the wrong size, finish, colour or simply the wrong model, but we rarely stop using them because we don't like the taste. Of course, there is often no real reason, and we regret seeing unused pipes in our collection. So, it is better to pass them on to a new enthusiast who will give them the value they deserve. Since each shop sets its own conditions, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify our rules and services.

First of all , we would like to point out that we do not buy back your pipes, but we sell them on your behalf. When you bring us your pipe, we evaluate it and decide together on the price at which to sell it (generally half the list price). The pipe is then sent for cleaning, which involves disinfecting the inside, removing excess carbon from the bowl and finally polishing it. The mouthpiece is cleaned externally with sandpaper so that the new smoker will be the first to put it in their mouth. The cleaning costs are paid by the person selling the pipe when they leave it at the shop.

Although we know that not everyone requests it, this cleaning is one of our fundamental requirements for obvious hygienic reasons. We are all healthy, but it is only right that those who buy a second-hand pipe should feel comfortable smoking a pipe that has belonged to someone else.

Once cleaning is complete, the pipes are offered to enthusiasts in the shop and on the website. They are photographed, measured, weighed and described in detail. A key factor is the condition of the pipe: it must be good, but preferably excellent. We refuse pipes that we do not consider to be of this standard. One of our rules is that we do not accept pipes with a list price of less than €100, as past experience has shown that cheap pipes have never had a market and, if we consider the cost of cleaning alone, it is not worth the effort. Finally, we do not accept new pipes for resale as second-hand items.

I advise those who are unable to come to the shop in person to send me an email (perhaps with some photos of the pipes for sale) or to call me. This will allow us to assess how to proceed and work out the details.

Once the pipes are sold, the credit is available to the customer, who can decide whether to buy a new or used pipe or use it for other purposes, such as accessories.

The credit CANNOT be used to purchase cigars or tobacco.

The used pipes offered on the website have been discounted with the owners' consent. Without this consent, the price cannot be discounted. The time between the delivery of a pipe and its appearance online depends on technical issues that vary according to the number of other pipes already waiting. In fact, the chronology of arrivals is strictly respected.

Finally, I would like to point out that some broken-in pipes sell after a few days, others after months. You just need to be patient. So, if you have a 'gem' hidden away in your collection that you don't smoke, don't hesitate to come forward!

Happy smoking!
