Ser Jacopo smooth pipe in dark brown, fancy snake model with sinuous black methacrylate mouthpiece. Group L1 A rating. The pipe has a striking visual impact thanks to its original shape. Its characteristic feature is the thin, sinuous mouthpiece, which demonstrates the considerable skill of the craftsman who made it. Its whimsical design makes it resemble a snake and renders it unique, very elegant and refined. It features beautiful flaming with a discreet bird's eye pattern, although not perfectly centred. The forward-sloping bowl gives it a sense of movement that lends it a superior style. The flat underside of the stem makes it very convenient as it can be placed down without falling over. It is medium in size and stands out for its capable bowl, which guarantees excellent smoking in all situations. Its lightness makes it ideal for any smoke, although it is best enjoyed while sitting comfortably in an armchair. Ser Jacopo's L1 pipes are smooth, flawless pipes characterised by a noticeable but irregular grain.
Ser Jacopo was founded in 1982 by the expert hands of Giancarlo Guidi. He came from a decade of success at Mastro, of which he was one of the founders. This new adventure began by focusing on pipe mouthpieces, creating true works of art. He uses precious metals, stones, horn and exotic woods to give Ser Jacopo pipes a distinctive and new look that many smokers appreciate. Add to this seasoned briar and success is immediate. Giancarlo Guidi is considered the father of what is known as the 'Pesaro school'. He taught the craft to many young people who, as they grew up, started their own workshops. Over the years, these artisans, as a sign of gratitude and esteem, have turned to Guidi, calling him Maestro. Giancarlo left us in 2012, still full of projects that were never realised, but which would certainly have amazed us. He was an extraordinary person, humble and cultured, a great art lover. The world of pipes lost a true protagonist too soon, and I lost a true friend.
