The pipe has an original and essential line that makes it very elegant, with unique briar woodwork that gives it a superior class. An original model invented by Werner that has now become his trademark and is always current and pleasant to smoke. The briar wood craftsmanship deserves a separate mention. Rupert Wagner, a renowned German pipe maker known as Roger Wallenstein, invented a briar wood craftsmanship technique in 2008 that he calls Driftwood. This technique consists of making the finish similar to wood that has been exposed to the waves of the sea for a long time. Only three craftsmen know this process, and the secret is jealously guarded. The process is long and difficult to perform, but the end result is impressive, extraordinary and wonderful, original and unique, giving the pipe a superior class. The pipe is a Calabash Reverse, which are pipes with a generously sized stem as they have a very large expansion chamber. This creates a vortex that allows the smoke to expand and cool, giving unusually fresh smokes. The difference compared to 'traditional' pipes is remarkable and very pleasant. Even the tobacco yields more as it remains dry until the end of the smoke. The shapes are squat due to construction requirements, but the pipes are practical and cheerful, especially in this model, which has a tempered glass stem so you can see the smoke passing through it. Werner's imagination overturns traditional construction standards, taking his pipes to a higher level. The pipe has sharp edges that enhance the perfection of Werner's craftsmanship. The flaming is not visible due to the way it is done, but it gives a unique sensation to the touch. Finally, the mouthpiece, made with meticulous precision, has a thin, perfect tooth for absolute comfort between the teeth. The pipe is medium in size and stands out for its more than discreet bowl, which provides excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness is not record-breaking but still ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The quality is the same as all other Mummert pipes. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it heats the hand less. It is excellent for walking as it is less prone to scratches and marks. Werner Mummert is considered a master for his impeccable technique in creating his 'jewels'.
