The commemorative 500 Millionth Limited Edition Zippo Regular lighter features a deeply sculpted and polished Armour® case, stylised with a rich gold fill and embellished with a gold insert. These lighters were all created on the same day, 5 June 2012, with a stamp on the bottom of the lighter that was specially created and never used again. Approximately 10,000 pieces were created, each with a unique serial number laser-engraved on the front of the case. This model features an exclusive one-day stamp on the bottom. The 500 Millionth Limited Edition lighter is packaged in a beautiful custom box with an oval-shaped brass complement. The oval-shaped 'blank' is what is cut, pressed, stamped, welded, plated, polished and assembled into a Zippo lighter. This lighter has the number 3893 and is very rare and sought after by collectors around the world. The flame guard makes it very convenient as even in strong winds, the flame does not go out. The lighter's mechanism is very simple, with a steel case filled with cotton wool and a wick made semi-rigid by copper wires, and a flint for the spark. This simplicity means that a Zippo always works, and the company believes in it so much that it has always offered a lifetime guarantee. In the rare event that the lighter breaks down, simply download a form from the Zippo website and send it to Germany, where it will be repaired and returned to the sender free of charge. As with all petrol lighters, there is no flame adjustment and its height depends on the length of the wick. The wick wears out over time and needs to be pulled up from time to time. A Zippo lighter lasts on average a couple of days, but with a few precautions, you can double that. The first thing to do is to add a little cotton to what is already in the lighter so that it is well pressed, and then be careful when putting it in your pocket. If you put it upright, it will last longer. It is important to use only highly purified petrol, and Zippo's is the best. There are other brands on the market, but they are often more oily and, over time, they clog and dirty the mechanism. The Zippo is less suitable for cigars and pipes, for which gas inserts have been created that are more appropriate. The lighter comes with an elegant original gift box.
IMPORTANT: Due to postal regulations introduced in 2013, we can no longer ship lighters containing gas or petrol. The lighter will be supplied empty and must therefore be filled by the customer.
