Le Nuvole smooth brown pipe, curved fancy poker model with variegated cumberland ebonite mouthpiece. Rating: 4 Nuvole. This pipe is a real gem with its highly original design that makes it very elegant. Over the years, Maurizio Tombari has created his own original models, each with its own name to distinguish it from the others. The pipe bowl has a wonderful, regular flame pattern across the entire bowl, which is tilted forward and gives a very pleasant sense of movement. It is large in size and stands out for its capacious bowl, which guarantees excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness, due to the long seasoning of the briar, makes it ideal for smoking both while walking and sitting comfortably in an armchair. This pipe is very comfortable as it can be put down without falling over. The smooth Nuvole pipes are rated from 3 to 8 Nuvole depending on the flame pattern. They are created in hazelnut, brown, red and amber colours. The briar used is extra extra and each piece is carefully selected in person. Nuvole pipes are the expression of Italian craftsmanship at its highest level, with a care and attention to detail that has few equals. Each 'Nuvola' is a true jewel, rare and precious, to be cherished with love.
Maurizio Tombari is a renowned pipe maker from the Marche region. For two decades, he learned the art of working with briar in two historic companies in the Italian pipe-making scene: Mastro de Paja and Ser Jacopo. In 1996, he opened his own workshop in Pesaro, where he was born, and named his pipes Le Nuvole. All his production stems from the desire that has driven him from the beginning: to make pipes entirely by hand, following every stage of the process, to create a product with attention to detail, giving it the uniqueness, harmony and lightness of clouds. The models, designed by Maurizio with his wife Stefania (a design enthusiast), take shape from his uncontaminated vision, his desire to create a precious handcrafted object and their shared search for essential and timeless lines: sometimes inspired by revisited ancient memories and, in any case, always oriented towards stylistic innovation. The laborious and lengthy attention he loves to devote to each pipe leads him to limit production to 120-130 pieces per year.
