Stanwell Trio smooth brown pipe, classic straight 98 Lovat model with black methacrylate mouthpiece. Trio Smooth rating. The pipe is very elegant and refined, with a classic Stanwell design. It has a beautiful English cut flame with a fine bird's eye on one side of the bowl, making it very stylish. Although the grain is not regular, the wood pattern is still very beautiful. The pipe is medium in size and stands out for its more than discreet bowl and excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. A pipe with a classic line, always current and never tiresome. Its warm colour and triple band make it very classy. Stanwell's Trio series is characterised by a triple band that gives the pipe a superior class. The pipes are machine-carved but hand-finished and always feature beautiful flaming. Sometimes the flaming is not just beautiful but fabulous. It is available in both black sandblasted and smooth polished light brown, to which is added the characteristic Scandinavian design. This detail of modifying classic models with the Scandinavian aesthetic philosophies typical of Danish Design is the reason why Danish pipes have become famous.
Stanwell was founded in 1942 with the production of beechwood pipes, as briar was not available during the war. From 1948, when the collaboration with Sixten Ivarsson began, the pipes were produced in briar. The prestige and volume of production continued to increase and in 1965 the factory moved to Borup, south of Copenhagen. In addition to the collaboration with Sixten Ivarsson, the company's good reputation was certainly helped by its collaboration with other renowned Danish pipe artists, who continue to design various models on its behalf. As a result, the current product range includes pipes designed by Bang (Ulf Noltensmeier/Per Hansen), Jess Chonowitsch, Tom Eltang, Poul llsted, Anne Julie and Poul Winsløw. An interesting fact is that about two-thirds of those involved in production are women, which is noteworthy considering the small number of women who generally work in this field.
The pipe for sale is exactly as pictured. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website.
