Ser Jacopo sandblasted brown pipe, curved fancy churchwarden model with black methacrylate mouthpiece. S2 A group rating. The pipe has a striking visual impact due to its considerable length, which makes it very original and stylish. Its considerable length makes it ideal for smoking comfortably in an armchair, providing a consistently fresh and dry smoke. This greatly limits the use of this type of pipe because it is very inconvenient to carry around. However, this Ser Jacopo also comes with a second, shorter methacrylate mouthpiece, which allows it to be smoked comfortably anywhere. This gem makes it like having two pipes instead of just one. The fine sandblasting makes it very pleasant to hold and gives it an almost silky feel, highlighting its beautiful flaming. It is medium in size and stands out for its large bowl, which guarantees excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking (with the short mouthpiece) or sitting comfortably in an armchair (with the long mouthpiece). The S2 series are pipes with small defects that are sandblasted but have beautiful grain, as can be seen on the bowl of this model. The workmanship is very time-consuming, but the result is impressive. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it heats up the hand less. It is excellent for walking as it is less prone to scratches and marks. This pipe has an impressive and original design that highlights the craftsmanship of Ser Jacopo.
Ser Jacopo was founded in 1982 by the expert hands of Giancarlo Guidi. He came from a decade of successful experience at Mastro, of which he was one of the founders. This new adventure began by focusing on pipe mouthpieces, creating true works of art. He uses precious metals, stones, horn and exotic woods to give Ser Jacopo pipes a distinctive and new look that many smokers appreciate. Add to this seasoned briar and success is immediate. Giancarlo Guidi is considered the father of what is known as the 'Pesaro school'. He taught the craft to many young people who, as they grew up, started their own workshops. Over the years, these artisans, as a sign of gratitude and esteem, have turned to Guidi, calling him Maestro. Giancarlo left us in 2012, still full of projects that were never realised, but which would certainly have amazed us. He was an extraordinary person, humble and cultured, a great art lover. The world of pipes lost a true protagonist too soon, and I lost a true friend.
