Black sandblasted Sesa pipe, a classic straight billiard model with a black methacrylate mouthpiece and a boxwood stem. Rated 3 stars. The pipe is very elegant and refined, with a fine sandblasted finish that enhances the wood’s grain. The model is the quintessential classic straight pipe, timeless and never tiresome. It has a slightly ‘chubbier’ stem than usual, strongly reminiscent of what is commonly known as a Maigret. The pipe is not made of briar but of Bog Oak (Morta), i.e. oak that has lain in ponds or marshes for several thousand years where it fossilises. It is more of a fossil than a wood, and its texture is very reminiscent of meerschaum. Like meerschaum, it is extremely light and does not affect the taste of the tobacco, enhancing its natural flavour. If dropped or knocked, it will not crack but may chip. The pipe is medium to large in size and features a generously sized bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or sitting comfortably in an armchair. It is the classic model par excellence, remaining timeless as the years go by.
The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo, as every monitor displays colours differently. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
