A smooth-finished, brown Savinelli Autograph pipe, with a black ebonite mouthpiece, in the classic curved billiard style. Autograph rating: 5. The pipe is designed to be smoked with a 6 mm balsa filter. The pipe makes a striking visual impression thanks to its sinuous lines, which give it a very elegant appearance. It is very refined, a Savinelli classic that is always highly prized. It is large in size and stands out for its generous bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation, whether out for a walk or sitting comfortably in an armchair. Its distinctive feature is its round shank at the top and flat at the bottom, with a very fine sandblasted finish that extends down to just below the bowl. The rim of the bowl, finished to perfection, is marvellous and lends it absolute class. This pipe boasts extraordinary traditional-cut flamed grain, beautiful and consistent across the entire bowl, which also makes it very rare given its value. The thick-walled bowl ensures it never gets too hot and is a real pleasure to hold, even when unlit. It is a stunning piece, perfect in both size and grain. Its lightness relative to its size is surprising but is a guarantee of well-seasoned, dry briar. The Autograph series are amongst the most prestigious Savinelli pipes and highly sought-after by discerning smokers. They are crafted exclusively from extra-extra briar that has undergone a long curing process and are made entirely by hand. They are crafted by an expert Savinelli artisan, who defines the design according to his own inspiration, and each pipe is a unique piece. Production was limited and irregular, whilst today they are rare. The pipe is second-hand, has been smoked well and very sparingly, and is in excellent condition.The pipe does not come with its original pouch or box but is supplied with the shop’s own pouch.
The second-hand pipes we deal in are exclusively from the finest and most prestigious brands, and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well looked after and smoked properly; they have generally been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe – both the bowl and the mouthpiece – is polished. Casaropipe guarantees that, at this stage, they are ready to continue bringing pleasure to a new enthusiast.
The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photographs. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photograph, as every monitor displays colours differently. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by up to one millimetre, either way.
