Brown sandblasted Ceppo pipe, classic curved billiard model with black methacrylate mouthpiece. The pipe is very elegant and has a great visual impact given its generous size. The pipe is large and stands out for its very spacious bowl and excellent smokability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. Sandblasted Ceppo pipes are ideal for the warmer months as they heat up less in the hand. Excellent for walking, given their lower propensity for scratches and marks. The deep, wide bowl is excellent for smoking natural tobaccos or flakes that 'breathe' more and better, releasing aromas that are sometimes difficult to detect. Group 1 rating.
In 1995, Franco Rossi purchased the Il Ceppo factory from Giorgio Imperatori. In the past, he had collaborated with Bruto Sordini, the owner of the Don Carlos factory, and with Guidi Giancarlo of the Ser Jacopo company, which had originally founded the Mastro de Paja factory. Like most Italian pipe makers, Franco Rossi does not mark his pipes with his name, but with the words Il Ceppo, which refers to the origin of the briar pipes. Although his pipes are similar in shape to those of the aforementioned brands, Franco Rossi has developed his own personal style, characterised by faceted bowls, which are rarely found in Italian pipes. Franco Rossi and his sister produce 1,500 pipes a year, almost half of which are exported to the United States, where the Il Ceppo brand is, understandably, very well known. All his products boast meticulous workmanship, excellent performance and a surprisingly affordable price.
The pipe for sale is exactly as pictured in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as each monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either more or less.
