Dark brown rusticated Rind pipe, classic curved apple model with black methacrylate mouthpiece. Rind rating. The pipe has a classic shape that makes it very elegant, with a warm colour that gives it a superior class. The pipe is small/medium in size and stands out for its bowl, which provides excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The model is reminiscent of a Hawkbill, but the stem does not have the right curvature and it is more appropriate to consider it an apple. Its compactness is wonderful, making it very comfortable to carry around. Its pure lines give it an unmistakable class. Very pleasant to hold, even when unlit. The Rind series are pipes that do not have a regular grain and have some small defects in the briar. The rustication is done by hand with gouges that carve the wood, which is a very long and laborious process. Paradoxically, these are the pipes that require the most work but are the ones with the lowest price. The quality is the same as all other Radice pipes. It is available in hazelnut, brown, black, red and natural colours. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it does not heat up the hand as much. It is excellent for carrying around due to its lower susceptibility to scratches and marks. Radice is one of the Italian artisans offering the best value for money.
Radice is one of the oldest artisans still in business. He began working for Castello in 1960, where he learned the trade and acquired the art of pipe craftsmanship. In 1968, he founded Caminetto with Peppino Ascorti, which, thanks to the growing interest in handcrafted pipes, achieved considerable success in the major world markets. In 1979, he decided to open his own artisan workshop and, although the beginning was difficult, he managed to establish himself on the market thanks to his skilled craftsmanship. He was later joined by his sons and today is a major player in the Italian pipe-making industry
The pipe for sale is exactly as pictured in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as each monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either more or less.
