Black rusticated Rind Calabash pipe, classic straight Aero Billiard model with a black methacrylate mouthpiece. Rind Calabash Reverse rating. The pipe makes a striking visual impression with its original, compact design, which gives it a very fresh and youthful feel. It is a Calabash Reverse pipe, characterised by a generously sized bowl due to its very large expansion chamber. This, thanks to the short, convex stem, creates a vortex that allows the smoke to expand and cool, resulting in an unusually cool smoke. The difference compared to ‘traditional’ pipes is noticeable and very pleasant. The shapes are squat for construction reasons, but the pipes are practical and cheerful. The pipe is medium to large in size and stands out for its more than adequate bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its compactness makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. A very practical pipe as it has a flat stem at the bottom and can be set down without falling over. Its lightness is surprising and makes it hard to put down. The Rind series comprises pipes that do not have a regular grain and feature some minor flaws in the briar. The rustic finish is hand-carved using gouges to engrave the wood, a very long and laborious process. Paradoxically, these are the pipes that require the most work yet are the most affordable. The quality is the same as all other Radice pipes. It is available in hazelnut, brown, black, red and natural colours. An ideal pipe for the warmer months as it heats the hand less. Excellent for carrying around given its reduced tendency to show scratches and marks. Radice is one of the Italian artisans offering the best value for money.
