Black/red sandblasted Silk Cut root pipe, classic curved Aero Poker model with a black methacrylate mouthpiece. Rated as a Silk Cut Calabash Reverse. The pipe makes a striking visual impression with its original, compact design, which gives it a very fresh and youthful feel. It is a Calabash Reverse, a type of pipe with a generously sized bowl due to its very large expansion chamber. Thanks to the short, convex stem, this creates a vortex that allows the smoke to expand and cool, resulting in an unusually fresh smoking experience. The difference compared to ‘traditional’ pipes is striking and very pleasant. The shapes are squat for construction reasons, but the pipes are practical and cheerful. The pipe is medium to large in size and stands out for its spacious bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its compactness makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. Its beautiful grain is enhanced by the fine sandblasting. Its bright red colour gives it character and does not go unnoticed. A very practical pipe as it can be set down without falling over. The Silk Cut series comprises pipes with minor flaws in the briar and a beautiful, regular grain. The sandblasting is achieved by striking the pipe with tiny grains of silica at high pressure, which erode the soft part of the briar, creating the distinctive pattern of a sandblasted pipe. It is the most robust pipe, as if any small cracks were through-going, the silica would pierce the briar immediately. The process is long and difficult to carry out but yields a final result of great effect. The quality is the same as all other Radice pipes. An ideal pipe for the warmer months as it warms the hand less. Excellent for carrying about given its reduced tendency to show marks and dents. The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
