The characteristic of this model is its classic style, which gives it a very elegant and refined appearance. The pipe has a beautiful, regular flame pattern that is highlighted by the fine sandblasting. It is medium in size and stands out for its more than capable bowl and excellent smokability in any situation, whether walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The rim of the bowl and the wavy floc mouthpiece are very distinctive and beautiful. The Old Antiquari series features pipes with small defects in the briar and a beautiful, regular grain. The sandblasting is done by hitting the pipe with tiny grains of silica at high pressure, which dig into the soft part of the briar, creating the distinctive pattern of the sandblasted pipe. It is the healthiest pipe because if the small cracks were through-going, the silica would pierce the stump immediately. The process is long and difficult to perform but gives a striking final result. The quality is the same as all other Castello pipes. It is available in hazelnut, brown, black, red and natural colours. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it does not heat up the hand as much. It is excellent for walking as it is less prone to scratches and marks.

Over the years, Carlo Scotti was joined by his son-in-law Franco Coppo, who now runs the artisan workshop. Castello's strength is based on several factors. Firstly, the expert artisans who shape the briar with their decades of experience and skill. Secondly, the long-aged briar, which guarantees light and dry pipes. Finally, the rigour of Carlo Scotti first and Franco Coppo later in creating the best possible product that reflects excellent aesthetics without neglecting functionality.
