Neerup Classic Series pipe, sandblasted brown with a variegated methacrylate mouthpiece, semi-curved pot model. Group 2 rating. Peder Jeppesen's pipes are characterised by a typical Danish design that he has personalised over the years. The shapes are compact and the original, sinuous lines give his pipes a contemporary elegance, thanks also to the colours of their mouthpieces. It is an atypical model because it looks like an apple pipe but cut at the top, making it a pot pipe. The pipe is medium/large in size and stands out for its more than capable bowl, which provides excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The beautiful flame pattern is enhanced by the fine sandblasting, which gives it an almost silky feel. The colouring is typical of the craftsman, with a brown colour that turns to rust, creating beautiful shades that give the pipe a superior class. The gold ring is very beautiful and unpretentious, yet very elegant and refined. The seasoned Italian briarwood performs at its best after just a few smokes. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it does not heat up the hand as much. Excellent to carry around given its lower propensity for scratches and marks. The Neerup series are machine-carved and hand-finished pipes. The quality is excellent, like Peder Jeppesen pipes, but the price is significantly lower. An excellent opportunity to try a very good Danish-style pipe.
Peder Jeppesen has been making pipes for over 25 years. He dreamed of becoming a pipe maker since he was a boy and started as an apprentice to Karl Erik Ottendahl, then continued with the legendary Erik Nørding, from whom he learned the secrets of the trade. When Georg Jensen closed his workshop, Peder took advantage of the opportunity to take over his machinery and start his own workshop. Over the years, his style has become increasingly personal and successful in the world's major markets. He loves to experiment, but the pipe must always be beautiful with harmonious lines. Today, the briar is of Italian origin and the mouthpieces are made of methacrylate, often in bright colours. He devotes a lot of time to finishing, especially polishing, which lasts longer on his pipes. He works in the family business alongside his wife Bettina and his son. Peder Jeppesen pipes are complemented by Neerup pipes, which are made from the same briar but are machine-carved. The attention to detail and fine craftsmanship is the same for both lines.
