Dunhill Root Briar Billiard 41032 (1982) – Broken-in

A smooth, well-broken-in brown Dunhill Root Briar pipe, a classic straight billiard model bearing the number 41032 and featuring a traditional black ebonite mouthpiece. Rating: 4. The pipe is very elegant and refined, a classic that never goes out of fashion. Its clean, linear lines lend it a superior class. The pipe is medium to large in size and features a more than ample bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its light weight makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. The pipe’s grain is beautiful, and the briar is horizontally cut with a subtle partridge’s eye on the front of the bowl. In the collective imagination, for many, this is ‘The Pipe’. A very rare piece that enhances any collection. The Root was introduced in 1931. It requires a perfect, clean bowl with a dense, compact grain; if it is flamed, it becomes a “Straight Grain”. In this series, they are graded from 1 to 6 stars, available in the “standard” version and the more expensive “XL” version. There are some very rare Extra Large Straight Grains, classified as “G” Billiard and “H” Collector. These are the most prized pieces. Availability is extremely limited, as only pipes with perfect briar can become a Root. The pipe was produced in 1982. The pipe is used, having been smoked extensively, mainly with English Mixture and occasionally with natural tobaccos. Condition 7.5 out of 10. The pipe has neither its original pouch nor box. Although the pipe has been smoked extensively, it is in perfect condition and intact, and will certainly give great pleasure for many years to anyone who has the pleasure of giving it a try.

The second-hand pipes we deal in are only from the best and most prestigious brands and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well cared for and smoked; generally, they have been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe polished, including the bowl and mouthpiece. Casaropipe guarantees that at this stage they are ready to continue bringing satisfaction to a new enthusiast.

The pipe for sale is exactly the one shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
