A smooth, matt light brown Duca Conte pipe, a classic curved tulip model with a black ebonite mouthpiece. Conte grade. The pipe is very elegant and refined, with an almost velvety finish that enhances the wood’s grain and its extraordinary English-cut flamed pattern, featuring dense partridge-eye markings on the sides of the bowl. The tall bowl is slightly tilted forwards, giving it a very pleasing sense of movement. Its matt finish is remarkable, seeming to enhance the wood’s grain and lending it a superior class. These are small details that do not escape the eye and delight the smoker. The aesthetic result is marvellous and striking, demonstrating the craftsman’s absolute skill. The tall bowl ensures consistently cool smokes. The feel to the touch is very distinctive and pleasant, different from that of other smooth-bore pipes. The pipe is of medium size and stands out for its more than adequate bowl capacity, offering excellent smokeability in any situation. Its incredible lightness makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. The floc mouthpiece is very convenient as it can be removed even whilst the pipe is hot. A fabulous pipe that is a great pleasure to hold, even when unlit. The Conte series comprises pipes with a distinct and moderately dense flamed finish across the entire bowl. They are often coloured with a golden contrast and represent the pinnacle of the range. These pipes are not produced frequently, but when they are, they leave one speechless. Prices vary depending on the complexity of the model’s construction and, consequently, the time taken to craft it. The quality and finish are of the very highest standard.
