Charatan Special pipe, smooth-finished brown, classic straight Dublin style with a black ebonite mouthpiece. Special grade. This is an ORIGINAL Charatan pipe, produced before the 1980s. The pipe is very elegant, with a classic silhouette that lends it a touch of class. The pipe is of medium size and is characterised by a more than ample bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its light weight makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The pipe has a beautiful flame pattern, although it is not uniform across the entire bowl. On one side it bears the classic Lane logo, which certainly adds to its value. The pipes you’ll find on this website were all made before 1978, some as far back as the 1960s. The pipe is second-hand, has been well-smoked and mainly with natural tobaccos or English mixtures. Rating: 9 out of 10. The pipe comes without its original pouch or box.
The second-hand pipes we deal in are exclusively from the finest and most prestigious brands and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well looked after and smoked properly; they have generally been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe – both the bowl and the mouthpiece – is polished. Casaropipe guarantees that, at this stage, they are ready to continue bringing pleasure to a new enthusiast.
The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photographs. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photograph, as every monitor displays colours differently. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by up to one millimetre, either way.
