Brown sandblasted Bluebird pipe, classic straight Dublin model with black methacrylate mouthpiece. Brown rating. The pipe has an original and essential line that makes it very elegant, with a dark and warm colour that gives it a superior class. A model inspired by Scandinavian classics and characterised by a fine stem that makes it very refined. The pipe is medium in size and stands out for its bowl, which is capable of excellent smoking in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair. The bowl has a beautiful flame pattern that is enhanced by the fine sandblasting. The pipe is very pleasant to hold as it is perfectly balanced. The sandblasted series features pipes with small defects in the briar and a beautiful, regular grain. Sandblasting is done by hitting the pipe with tiny grains of silica at high pressure, which dig into the soft part of the briar, creating the distinctive pattern of the sandblasted pipe. It is the healthiest pipe because if there were any small cracks, the silica would pierce the pipe immediately. The process is long and difficult to perform but gives a striking final result. The quality is the same as all other Bluebird pipes. It is available in hazelnut, brown, black, red and natural colours. This pipe is ideal for the warmer months as it heats the hand less. It is excellent for walking, given its lower propensity for scratches and marks. The pipe is rough-cut by machine and finished by hand by Piero Vitale. This allows for a very competitive price.
The BlueBird pipe brand is Italian, born from the successful collaboration between pipe maker Pietro Vitale and the Molina Pipe company in Varese. These pipes are made entirely from well-seasoned Italian briar and there are a few select models, including Dublin, Egg, Poker, Oval Prince, Brandy and Bulldog. The idea behind this creation is to make unique and comfortable pipes, designed to be light and sinuous.
