Black Bay Rusticata pipe, classic straight Hobo Poker model with a black ebonite mouthpiece. A one-of-a-kind piece. This is the most famous model created by Mike, which has earned him recognition on the international market. Its distinctive feature is the bowl base, which starts straight before tilting forwards, giving the pipe a very pleasing, harmonious silhouette. The pipe has a fresh and very elegant design and is extremely pleasant to smoke. It is also very practical as it can be set down without falling over. Mike learned the best from his mentor, Tom Eltang, honing a sense of proportion and good taste to create models that reflect his personality and ideas, demonstrating his remarkable craftsmanship. The pipe is of medium size and features a more than generous bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its incredible lightness makes it ideal for smoking whilst out walking or comfortably seated in an armchair. Its rustic finish is a prime example of how something new and original can be created. The inspiration came to him whilst observing the mark left in the sand by a wave that had just receded from the shore. Thus, Mike reproduces this very same design on his beautiful pipes. The wave effect is striking, created specifically through a long and meticulous process that makes the pipe anything but ordinary. Its long-seasoned briar ensures consistently dry smokes. Personally, I find it a delightful pipe which, even with a modest bowl, allows for a leisurely smoke of at least 45 minutes. Its lightness between the teeth makes it hard to put down.
The pipe for sale is exactly the one shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
