A brown Bay Rusticata pipe, a classic straight Dublin model with a black and ochre variegated ebonite mouthpiece. A one-of-a-kind piece. The model features a beautiful cream-coloured horn ‘army’ insert on the shank, lending it a touch of superior class. The floc-style mouthpiece attachment makes it very comfortable to use, as it can be removed even when the pipe is hot. The pipe has a fresh and very refined silhouette and is extremely pleasant to smoke. A wonderful model, classic yet timeless, which never grows old. The exquisite, smooth rim is a mark of great class, demonstrating the craftsman’s attention to even the smallest details. Mike has learnt the best from his mentor, Tom Eltang, enhancing his sense of proportion and good taste to create models that reflect his personality and ideas, whilst demonstrating his remarkable craftsmanship. The pipe is of medium size and is distinguished by a more than discreet bowl that guarantees excellent smokeability in any situation. Its incredible lightness makes it ideal for smoking both whilst out and about and whilst sitting comfortably in an armchair. Its rustic finish is a prime example of how something new and original can be created. The inspiration came from observing the mark left in the sand by a wave that had just receded from the shore. Thus, Mike reproduces this very same design on his beautiful pipes. The wave effect is striking, created specifically through a long and meticulous process that makes the pipe anything but ordinary. Its long-seasoned briar ensures consistently dry smokes. Personally, I find it a delightful pipe which, even with a modest bowl, allows for a leisurely smoke of at least an hour. Its lightness between the teeth makes it hard to put down.
The pipe for sale is exactly the one shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
