Bauer Bulldog Estate

Smooth-rolled Bauer pipe in ivory-coloured foam, classic straight bulldog model with traditional yellow cultured amber mouthpiece. The pipe is very elegant and refined, its light colour giving it a sense of purity. The pipe is medium in size and stands out for its more than capable bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness makes it ideal for smoking while walking or sitting comfortably in an armchair, although many people do not dare to carry it around with them. In fact, if a meerschaum pipe falls on the ground, only the mouthpiece is saved. The characteristic of meerschaum is that it enhances the taste of tobacco without adding or taking anything away. It is said to have no memory because, even when changing blends, it leaves no unpleasant residues. It does not need to be broken in and does not burn. The beauty of meerschaum is seeing the changes it undergoes with each smoke. It changes from white to amber, then turns pink and finally becomes brown. This pipe has already started to change colour from white to ivory. The pink rim of the bowl suggests that the pipe has been smoked little but well. An extraordinary piece that is definitely worth owning and will enhance any collection. A very rare pipe to find in a broken-in condition, produced in the 1980s. The pipe is used, smoked well and very little, mainly with natural tobaccos or English mixtures. Rating 9 out of 10. The pipe does not have its original bag or box.

Bauer is the most famous and prestigious manufacturer of meerschaum pipes. It was founded in the late 1800s in Vienna, where companies specialising in meerschaum processing were concentrated. The meerschaum was imported from Turkey, the world's only supplier, and processed by the skilled hands of Bauer's expert craftsmen. The company closed in the early 1990s due to a Turkish law that no longer allowed the export of raw foam blocks for processing, but only finished pipes. Bauer pipes have become highly sought after by collectors as they represent a level of excellence in pipe making that no longer exists. The Bauer pipes you find here on the website are all original, purchased from the authorised distributor in the 1970s and 1980s.

The pipes we sell second-hand are only from the best and most prestigious brands and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well cared for and smoked, generally having been smoked very little, and are sanitised before being put up for sale. Once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised, the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe polished, including the bowl and mouthpiece. Casaropipe guarantees that at this point they are ready to continue to give pleasure to a new enthusiast.

The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as each monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either more or less.
