A smooth-finished, light brown Cesare Barontini pipe, a classic straight Dublin model with a black methacrylate mouthpiece. Rated ‘Sultana’. This pipe was crafted by Cesare Barontini, who was a highly regarded artisan in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It makes a striking visual impression thanks to its clean, simple lines, which give it a very elegant appearance. The pipe is large in size and features a generous bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Its light weight makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or sitting comfortably in an armchair. Thanks to its size, it is a great pleasure to hold, even when unlit. The pipe features subtle, traditionally cut flamed grain with veining visible on one side of the bowl but fading on the other; nevertheless, the wood’s pattern remains pleasing. It is in impeccable condition – I would say as good as new – as can be seen from its honey-coloured finish, which has not darkened and gives it a very refined appearance. It is an incredible piece, waiting for a keen smoker to put their trust in it, knowing they will be rewarded with excellent smokes. The pipe is second-hand, having been smoked perhaps once; it is in excellent condition.The pipe does not come with its original pouch or box but is supplied with the shop’s pouch.
The second-hand pipes we deal in are exclusively from the finest and most prestigious brands, and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well cared for and smoked properly; they have generally been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe – both the bowl and the mouthpiece – is polished. Casaropipe guarantees that, at this stage, they are ready to continue bringing satisfaction to a new enthusiast.
The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photographs. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photograph, as every monitor displays colours differently. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by up to one millimetre, either way.
