A smooth-finished, well-broken-in Bari Opal pipe in a brown/reddish colour, model 8422: a classic straight chimney pipe with a black ebonite mouthpiece. Opal grade. The pipe makes a strong visual impression thanks to its clean, simple lines, which give it a very elegant appearance. Its defining feature is the tall bowl, which ensures the smoke always remains cool. The briar’s grain is in the English style, featuring a fine partridge’s eye on one side of the bowl which fades on the other, though the wood’s pattern remains very attractive. The pipe is of medium size and stands out for its generously sized bowl, which guarantees excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness, resulting from the long curing of the briar, makes it ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. It is a pipe that is a great pleasure to hold, even when unlit. Bari is considered one of the historic artisan firms that developed what later became known as Danish Design, and is still renowned throughout the world today. The pipe is second-hand, having been smoked occasionally; it is in excellent condition.The pipe does not come with its original pouch or box but is supplied with the shop’s own pouch.
The second-hand pipes we deal in are exclusively from the finest and most prestigious brands and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well looked after and smoked with care; generally, they have been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe – both the bowl and the mouthpiece – is polished. Casaropipe guarantees that, at this stage, they are ready to continue bringing pleasure to a new enthusiast.
The pipe for sale is exactly as shown in the photographs. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photograph, as every monitor displays colours differently. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by up to one millimetre, either way.
