A smooth, natural-coloured Ashton Sovereign pipe, a classic straight poker style with a green/ochre variegated ebonite mouthpiece (Asthonite). Rating: XXX. The pipe is very elegant and its natural colour lends it a touch of class. The fine, wide silver ferrule makes it look very refined. The flat bowl base makes it very convenient as it can be set down without falling over. The pipe has a beautiful grain, although not entirely uniform. It is of medium to large size and is distinguished by a generous bowl that guarantees excellent smokeability in any situation. Its lightness is due to the long curing of the briar, making it ideal for smoking whilst out and about or comfortably seated in an armchair. The Sovereign series consists of flawless pipes with a visible, though not dense, flame pattern. They are natural in colour and very rare. These are the first I have managed to acquire in the last four years. Calabrian briar, which is both hard and light, is used in their construction. These are prestigious pipes of remarkable beauty that are certainly worth owning. They are renowned for producing a dry smoke.
The pipe for sale is exactly the one shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
