A well-broken-in, sandblasted brown Silk Cut briar pipe, in a classic straight ‘apple’ shape with a black methacrylate mouthpiece. Silk Cut rating. The pipe has a classic look that makes it very elegant, with clean, simple lines that lend it a touch of class. It features the characteristic spherical bowl with thick walls that never get too hot to hold. The pipe is medium-sized and stands out for its spacious bowl, ensuring excellent smokeability in any situation. Whilst not exceptionally lightweight, it is nonetheless ideal for any smoking session, whether out for a walk or comfortably seated in an armchair. It boasts a beautiful, very dense flame pattern, enhanced by the fine sandblasting. A classic that never grows old and remains timeless. The Silk Cut series comprises pipes with minor flaws in the briar and a beautiful, regular grain. The sandblasting is achieved by striking the pipe with tiny grains of silica at high pressure, which carve into the soft part of the briar, creating the distinctive pattern of a sandblasted pipe. It is the soundest pipe, as if any small cracks were through-going, the silica would pierce the block immediately. The process is long and difficult to carry out but yields a final result that is certainly impressive. The quality is the same as all other Radice pipes. An ideal pipe for the warmer months as it warms the hand less. Excellent for carrying about given its reduced tendency to show marks and stains. Radice is one of the Italian artisans offering the best value for money. The pipe is second-hand, having been smoked both frequently and occasionally; it is in very good condition. The pipe does not come with its original pouch or box but is supplied with a shop bag.
The second-hand pipes we deal in are only from the best and most prestigious brands and are rigorously selected by me from private collections. The pipes in question must have been well cared for and smoked; generally, they have been smoked very little and are sanitised before being put up for sale. In fact, once selected, they are disinfected and the interior sterilised; the mouthpiece is cleaned and the entire pipe polished, including the bowl and mouthpiece. The pipe for sale is exactly the one shown in the photos. Once sold, as it is handmade and therefore unique, the pipe will be removed from the website. The actual colour of the pipe may vary slightly from the photo, as every monitor has its own colour tone. The dimensions have been measured accurately but may vary by a millimetre, either way.
